From A Great Sinner To All Sinners Out There
There are many ways to draw a crooked line but only one way to draw a straight line. In the same way, the path of righteousness demands that we walk straight, not turn left or right. No matter who you are or whatever good you have done, if you don't abide by Jesus's standards, you will not get into Heaven. Matthew 7:13-14 says Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
We will all fall but will we all get up? Because that's what God really wants us to do; stand up, take your mat and walk, all you LAMED Christians. God still loves the prodigal son, the straying sheep and the dog that returns to his vomit but He has to punish the unrepentant and wicked. Can you handle a world where criminals go scot-free and righteousness is not exercised? We need to agree with God that we have sinned and work with Him to transform us bit by bit, glory to glory.
Proverbs 28:13 tells us that He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy. Regardless of what we have done, telling the truth about them will set us free from them. As much as we want to lie to cover our shame, only those who tell the whole truth shall ever find the answer they are looking for. Guilt and shame will overwhelm you but that's not the way God wants you to repent. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. True repentance starts when you know how Jesus's heart breaks with each sin and act of disobedience.
Accountability is a must if we want to defeat our own personal strongholds. We are so blind to our own sins and strongholds that we do not realize their severity and consequences. By telling mature Christians, we will be able to see our sin as sin. Till then, we have no idea of the depth and depravity of our deceitful and desperately wicked hearts.
Hebrews 4:16 says Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Let us not grow weary, but strengthen ourselves in the Lord.
