Finally, an update that's about me! I just want to share some photos, events and thoughts that I had for these few months.

1. I'M NOW DEEMED OPERATIONAL
Firstly, I just had a minor operation on 28th February 2007 to remove a small growth that suddenly appeared a few months back. It was similar to Jirin's case, except that my growth was located near the right thigh and that it must have been less scary for me than for her.

The reason why Jirin's operation must have been more scary was because she could see the surgeon operating on her neck. We were both under local anaesthetic, which means only the part operated on had anaesthetic applied.

We were both awake when the surgeon was putting the cold knife into our flesh.

On that day itself, I felt really afraid at the thought of being conscious during the operation. I was still not thinking about it the night before, having joined Nissi 3 guys in LAN fellowship after Tuesday night's prayer meeting at church.

But the moment I went home, I came into full realization of what I was in for and messaged my cellgroup leader, Wan Xin, to pass a call chain prayer request for the operation to go on smoothly and painlessly. But she told me it was too late to pass a message and that she would do it next morning.

I messaged Jirin to ask her about the procedure and whether she felt any pain the last time. I experienced a second bout of panic attack when she did not reply. But I slept well anyway.

The next day, I must have asked at least 3 hospital staff about the pain involved for the procedure. I sure did not trust anaesthetic, especially a local one, after my last tooth excavation. But they assured me, to no avail, that the only thing would hurt would be the injection of the local anaesthetic.

But, thank God, that what the staff said were true. During the half-hour to hour(I lost track of time) procedure, the operation felt like the surgeons were trying to pull off this stubborn plaster from my thigh. I heard the clipping of scissors and felt them pressing tissue on the wound to stop the bleeding.

Don't let the smile fool you. I was seriously a reluctant patient.

I wonder what biohazard waste would be in a hospital? Or why would radioactive stuff be dumped in a normal toilet dustbin?

2. BEST BUDDY AWARD 2007
And it was really nice of my best buddy in cellgroup, Xin Long, to actually offer to accompany me to the hospital. So I'm taking this opportunity to thank him. Let me give you little known facts about his wonderful family and him.

First of all, he opens up his house every Thursday for Knights' prayer meeting and the player meeting afterwards, rain or shine, without complaint or condition.

His mom cooks a generous more-than-you-can-eat portion of her delicious dishes for the many Knights that attend the prayer meeting every Thursday. His two sisters have been most hospitable even to a bunch of noisy monkeys(okay, maybe it's just me) every week.

I am really impressed by his love, concern and hospitality for the Knights. He's always so ready to give and serve. And Knights have become more bonded because of his opening up of his house, just like what the Acts church used to do.

He and his family have treated us like we're his family. And when Xin Long says, "Make yourself at home", it's a sincere and real invitation, not a courteous comment.

And all this from a relatively young convert from a Christian family. He challenges and spurs me on to bear fruits of love in the parts of Christ in which I have not attained.

And if you only knew Xin Long's family background, you would realize that the wisdom of God through Solomon's Proverbs was true.

Proverbs 22:6 says,

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

I have seen pastors' kids going in the opposite direction to the way their parents have walked. Sometimes I wonder if there was any hope at all of them encountering God and experiencing His transformation.

I guess this is encouragement to Christian parents and pastors that training a child in the ways of the Lord will one day be beneficial to the child, even if the child seems like the most wayward sheep ever.

Anyway, this is video footage of Xin Long sharing his testimony for the first time in service. The audio's not terrific though.

3. CHRISTMAS KIDS' PARTY

It was Christmas 2006. Instead of partying and experiencing a human traffic jam at Orchard Road, 6 Youth Impacters threw a party for the kids of the Chinese congregation. Kenneth Yeo, Xin Long, Xin Yan, Geraldine, Li Yuan and me.

*clap *clap. A rather nervous Geraldine sharing her testimony in front of 15 people for the first time.

Don't mind Kenneth and his mouth spray. He didn't brush this morning.

2 cute and delightful kids. Don't be fooled by their seemingly harmless exterior.

Xin Yan and Li Yuan.

Geraldine and Daisy.

Forfeit by 1 cute boy spelling out "Merry X'Mas' with his butt.

4. YI CAMP
From the camp, I realized how dry on faith I was. The testimonies of youths in Australia shining so brightly for God made me ponder which people I might have led to Him if I had prayed continually and had faith.

Compared to them, the life of faith I walked seemed to be a counterfeit, lacking the leadership and power of the Holy Spirit.

Praise and worship reminded me of how excited I used to be about worshipping God and how God would just inspire a dance there and then to genuine and sincere worshippers.

I would give anything to have once again that level of passion and sincerity in worship of God in spirit and in truth.

I never thought Christianity was such a difficult path till now, and it’s getting harder at every phase and turn of my life. God takes us as who we are but we are not supposed to be stagnant and unchanged by His love. As I learn more about what a Christian is supposed to be like, I hesitate to take the next step to the next level.

I find myself asking myself this question, will I continue honouring the Lord as I had in my youth? I do hope that I not only keep the faith, but grow in faith as well.

MORE CRAZY VIDEOS AND PHOTOS

Look at the weird angle and placement of my body in the air.

I love going wild with my hair. That explains the Jungle-Boy look.

This must be the Knights' favourite sport, or at least mine. First it was ping pong balls, now it's fishballs.

Kenneth is a chain smoker who no one can MATCH. You should ask him to perform this in real life. It's more obvious, dramatic and hazy.
